Frequently Asked Questions

A portable nebulizer is a compact, handheld device that turns liquid medication or saline into a fine mist you can breathe in through a mask or mouthpiece. It doesn’t require a bulky air compressor or tubing like standard jet nebulizers. It’s also noise-free. Learn more about nebulizers and other respiratory topics in the TruNeb blog.

We don’t take insurance at this time, but you can purchase our nebulizer and saline with an FSA or HSA card.

Yes. Our neb can be used for all ages, and young children often do better with the TruNeb Portable Nebulizer because it doesn’t make noise.

Always run 3-6 ml of distilled water through the device after each treatment to prevent the mesh from getting clogged. Depending on how often the nebulizer is used and how it is cared for, the mesh nozzle may need to be replaced every 1-3 months for best performance. You can set up automatic shipment for savings, or just order a new nozzle as needed. Additional accessories are available for purchase.

Our nebulizer can handle most common respiratory medications. Highly viscous meds like Pulmozyme, tobramycin, Mucomyst, or Colistin are not recommended. Suspension medications like budesonide have larger particles that could potentially clog the mesh, so make sure to nebulize 3-6 ml of distilled water after every treatment. Always nebulize one medication at a time.

Yes. If you’re not completely satisfied with your nebulizer, we offer a 30-day money back guarantee.

Yes, the TruNeb Portable Nebulizer is FDA approved.

Many of our customers have replaced their traditional jet nebulizer (the one with an air compressor and tubing) with our portable mesh nebulizer. We still recommend bringing a rescue inhaler as a backup when traveling just in case, since they don’t rely on electronics.
